The Retreat is designed to accommodate up to 10 guests, its two separate bedroom suites
allowing families or couples to enjoy complete privacy. On either side of the main pavilion, the ground floor of each of the two bedroom pavilions
contains a king bed. The loft on the second floor of each pavilion (accessed by a pull-down wooden ladder), has a couch with a memory foam mattress that can be made into a queen bed. Linen drapes can be drawn to screen off each loft from the bedroom below.
Both bedroom suites are air-conditioned and are equipped with ceiling fans. Each bedroom pavilion has its own separate bathroom and outoor shower with ocean views. The Retreat is transitioning to the use of eco-friendly electric incinerating toilets, which do not consume precious water (a scarce resource on St. John) or produce polluting waste. Our on-island managers will instruct you in the simple use of this innovative and highly sanitary system upon your arrival.
The couch in the living room unfolds into a queen bed, also with memory foam mattress, providing a total of 5 adult beds. Additional twin and infant airbeds are available upon request.

The well-equipped kitchen in the main pavilion offers ocean views as well as a gas stove and oven,
refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, trash-compactor, high quality cookware, and an eating bar. A laundry area with washer and dryer
is adjacent to the kitchen. The living room of The Retreat, also in the main pavilion, contains comfortable seating and dining areas, along
with satellite television, WiFi internet access, VCR, DVD player, surround-sound Hi-Fi, and library of books and movies. The pull-out couch transforms into a queen bed to accommodate extra guests.
All of the rooms in The Retreat have electronically controlled floor-to-ceiling windows (with separate motorized screens) that can be raised to let in the breeze.

Other amenities at The Retreat include:
Satellite WiFi, 40' lap pool, jetted hot tub, ceiling fans in all rooms, surround-sound stereo, linens for bed and bath,
"memory foam" mattresses, outdoor beach shower next to beach trail, beach towels, chairs, and picnic coolers,
and automatic roll-down insect screens. Daily maid services, as well as full or partial catering, are available upon request (with additional fee).
Please note that there is currently no landline phone service at The Retreat, although there is cellphone reception.
